El Departamento de Ciencia de la Computación de la Universidad Católica San Pablo anuncia a la comunidad el “XII Simposio Peruano de Computación Gráfica e Imágenes (SCGI-2018)”, a realizarse el 27 de diciembre de 2018 en la Universidad Católica San Pablo en la ciudad de Arequipa, Perú.
El propósito de este evento es fomentar la diseminación de la investigación realizada por investigadores que estén realizando o hayan realizado estudios de postgrado en universidades extranjeras en tópicos relacionados a Computación Gráfica e Imágenes (CGI). Además, el evento provee un ambiente excepcional para acercar alumnos de pregrado de universidades locales –que quieran realizar posgrados en el exterior– con alumnos de postgrado de universidades extranjeras.

Graduated in Systems Engineering from Universidad Católica Santa Maria (Peru-1996), with a master's degree in Computer Science from the University of São Paulo (Brazil-2003) and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Federal University of Minas Gerais ( Brazil-2007) and by the University of Cergy-Pontoise (France-2007). He has experience in the area of Computer Science, with emphasis on Computational Intelligence, acting mainly in the following subjects: Image and Video Processing, Computational Vision and Machine Learning.
D.Sc. in Computer Science since 2009, more specifically in Computer Graphics with emphasis in Computer Graphics and Computer Vision. M.Sc. in Computer Science since 2005 with emphasis in Computer Graphics, Virtual Reality and Computer Vision. B.Sc. in System Engineering since 2002. From 2004 to 2009 worked as a researcher assistant at PUC-Rio’s Computer Graphics Technology Group (Tecgraf), in the fields of scientific visualization, 3D model visualization, computer vision, virtual and augmented reality. From 2010 has been working as assistant professor and a project manager research at Technical-Scientific Software Development Institute (Tecgraf / PUC-Rio), developing and guiding projects to Petrobras , Rede Globo and General Electric (GE) companies.
He holds a Master's Degree from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (2013) and a PhD in Computer Science and Computational Mathematics from the University of São Paulo (2017), a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics - National University of Engineering (2006), a Master's degree in Mathematics by the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (2013) and doctorate in Computer Science and Computational Mathematics.
He holds a master's degree in Computer Science obtained in Brazil. His main areas of research is computational vision, pattern recognition, machine learning, graphic computing and artificial intelligence. He was a teacher / researcher at the San Pablo Catholic University of Arequipa. His latest research work is related to video processing, especially to the treatment and exploration of long-term videos for the extraction of the most important information.
